GraceNotes: Holding the Space for … Reflection
#40 — August 1, 2015 |
A true friend is the greatest of all blessings. — Francois de La Rochefoucauld Greetings, Inspired Seekers: August is the season for friendship and gatherings. For reunions and sacred celebrations. For remembrances of days gone by and for sharing the steamy summer days with those we most love. I hope, as I write this, that you are spending these days wisely, holding those you love close and deepening ties with those you don’t see that often. Summer is short. And so are our days. The value of friendship is echoed in the sacred writings of the world’s spiritual traditions:

Friendship is a sacred relationship; a sacred trust built upon a foundation of openness, mutual respect and a holy acknowledgement of the common ground we share along with the differences that make us unique and special. Think of the unthinkable — just for a moment. Imagine a world without your beloved friends. Sad. Painful. Empty. Friendship, like all things sacred, must be nourished, fed by the spirit. It is an investment in the other and it is an investment in the self. Are you investing wisely? May August give you the time for nourishment. For growth. For friendships that change us, steady us, and make us more of who we are meant to be. Grace-Fully Yours, Monthly Affirmation: I am a friend who honors friendship each day through compassion. We are blessed by each other. At TheSpaceForGrace, we walk the path of spiritual development with those seeking a deeper friendship with the Divine. If you are seeking, give us a call and begin a friendly conversation. 215 260 1611 or GraceMatters@TheSpaceForGrace.com.
