GraceNotes: Holding the Space for … Reflection

#139 — November 1, 2023

To live a pure unselfish life, one must count nothing as one's own in the midst of abundance.

Greetings, Inspired Seekers!

Welcome to the season of Thanks-Giving, celebrations and blessings!

If we stop, pause and offer prayers and intentions of gratitude, it is this season, beginning now, where we are especially called into that pause. To that place of gratitude, that space of grace.

It is at this time, in this world that is in such a state of turmoil and suffering, that our cries of thankfulness must also cry out to our communities acknowledging that all of us, all of creation that flows from one Source, shall be blessed by our words of grace. Yes. All.

This year it seems equally necessary and important to serve, to offer humble generosity at every opportunity and to ask ourselves: What are we really contributing in this world, what are we really giving and what are we really thankful for receiving? And, since timing is everything on this linear plane, let us ask these questions before we sit at the bountiful tables surrounded by the familiar.

What if, this Thanksgiving, we kick-start a sense of deep reflection that results in action, of intentions that spring to life and a profound mindfulness that opens up borders in our communities?

We are blessed! We are grateful! We have much to share, and we are loved!

And so, with this Thanksgiving and all the blessings that we take time to honor, let us share the holiness of the day and ensure that none of our fellow humans feel “less than” in these times of abundance.

Happy Thanksgiving – may our tables and our hearts be full to overflowing!

Grace, Abundantly Yours,
Reverend Deborah
