GraceNotes: Holding the Space for … Reflection

#120 — April 1, 2022

For she is terrible with the terror of the avenging lightning, and gentle with the goodness of the bright sun …

— Hildegard von Bingen

Greetings, Inspirational Seekers!

I have been thinking a lot about the Divine Feminine during these days of heart-breaking horrors. Or, perhaps because spring seems to be stalled here in the Northeast. Or, maybe as a combination of both.

Perhaps it is the energy of the Divine Feminine that will guide us out of this messy time and into a world of compassion and harmony. And maybe, make my tulips bloom. We must listen deeply to hear her for she, even with the warrior spirit of a fearless mother protecting her children, speaks in whispers. This Divine Mother is known by many names and is cloaked in many robes while wearing many faces. We each know her as we need to. That is the beauty of feminine energy – it comes to us in ways we understand if we pay attention.

In the eyes of this blessed mother we are all lovable, all worthy, all deserving of support, comfort and healing. Her only agenda is to help. And it appears that we all need it, whether in Ukraine, Hollywood or our own backyard.

It is this Divine Feminine that has been the source of deep healing during horrific wars and in times of great suffering. She is a part of our very souls and lives within our core.

As spring approaches and we pray that the world does not come apart, let us recognize her. Trust her. And let her spring to life through our choices. Plant some seeds. Water them. Fill the planet with the blossoms of kindness.

Grace-Fully Yours,
Reverend Deborah
