GraceNotes: Holding the Space for … Reflection

#104 — December 1, 2020

The soul lets no man go without some visitations and holy-days of a diviner presence.

— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Greetings, Inspired Seekers!

Was there ever a year when our relationships and celebrations with The Divine and each other were more important? I think not. For, if we lose those, we lose the very foundation of who we are – an image of Spirit in human form.

As I sit in the solitary silence of sparkling lights, candle flames and the scent of fresh pine, I remember when many saw the world as fairly unchanged and steadily evolving according to our plans. We all know now that that is SO no longer true.

We experience the season of celebration – Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali, Bodhi Day and Yule – with the hope of redemption for a hurting world instead of the quest for the perfection of a Hallmark holiday. We prepare to rebuild our neighborhoods, the world and ourselves in a heightened sense of consciousness and holiness.

Our actions matter. Our choices matter. Our celebrations matter.

And so, I pray that your celebrations reflect the creativity of the Source of All; that our hearts are so full that we cannot help but to share the love, compassion and generosity that fill them.

Thank you for being faithful readers during a difficult and sometimes tragic year. My heart is full for you and grace flows out to all!

Happy Holidays — ALL OF THEM!

Grace, Fully Yours,
Reverend Deborah
